For over 20 years, Dave Powell has been helping kids and adults of all ages tap into their natural ability to learn the universal language of music. Since picking up his first guitar at the age of twelve, Dave has dedicated his life to the art of playing guitar and creating music and sharing his passion with others. He's helped hundreds of students gain confidence, develop discipline, hone skills and build self-esteem all while having lots of fun rocking out!

Located in the music mecca of Marin County, Dave offers beginning to advanced guitar lessons as well as bass, ukulele and beginning piano. He offers both private lessons as well as online via Zoom. Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Country or Reggae - whatever you love - Dave will customize each lesson to your musical tastes and aspirations and help you reach your personal music goals. Whether you just want to learn how to play your favorite song or jam with friends or be a master of your craft, Dave makes learning fun!
Dave's teaching method is based on both a traditional and non-traditional approach to music. Just like we learn to talk before we read, you'll learn how to play songs before you even learn how to read a note! You'll also learn chords, rhythm, ear training, composition, improvisation and invaluable skills to become a well-rounded musician including how to play with others and jam with a band. Dave offers a complete curriculum and makes it easy to understand in a fun and relaxed environment!
